BAY AREA RED TARA PRACTICE GROUP

The 'BART' practice group meets regularly on Monday nights in Berkeley and welcomes newcomers. The group meets in the office of John Swearingen, a long-time practitioner and student of Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche's, and focuses on Red Tara practice. This is one of the heart practices of Chagdud Rinpoche which he introduced to sanghas worldwide, and which is practised in all his centers.

Practice is in John Swearingen's Berkeley office at 7pm. Our Red Tara Tsog is in English and we use the Concise Red Tara Sadhana along with more elaborate tsog prayers (we have copies of the tsog prayers). The Long Red Tara is primarily in English but we are continually expanding our Tibetan; we have copies of the Long Red Tara Practice if you need it. Mandala pans, damarus and bell and dorjes are always welcome. If you have a favorite cushion, it is a good idea to bring it along.

Practice is for the beginner to the experienced practitioner, however the Long Red Tara Practice does require empowerment.

For directions, more information or questions, please email Michelle or call her on 925 980 4240.
